As I was just doing some sanding on my model, I realized I could use a small sanding block. Sitting right there in front of me was a dead 9 volt battery. I simply took a strip of sanding paper and wrapped the battery. It works great! Make sure you have a long enough strip of sanding paper so you can slide it around when you're ready for some fresh sanding paper.
