OK their are a lot of guy's out their with different ideas on light blocking, but we have tried them all but this is the best way we have found to light block a model for lighting. First give your model 2 coats of FLAT BLACK on the inside only, after that has dried give it 2 to 3 coats of gloss white and that's it. Remember to give your model a good primer coat of gray primer this also will help with the light blocking and help you find any bad seams you may have missed. For your light blocking use the bargain brand paint, but for your primer we like to us a good quality primer like a Krylon.

I also heard that masking the edges where the kit is glued together helps in securing a good bond when assembling the kit ..thank you so much for this very useful info..It should aid me in building my second lighted ship..the U.S.S. Reliant
