Hi Everyone Well I have just finished un-boxing my TOS Enterprise, Deluxe Accessories Kit and Tena Controls Lighting and I have what will be the first of many questions. The Tena controls kit comes with everything except the additional lights required to illuminate the interior of the saucer, neck and secondary hull. The power source supplied by Tena Controls is a 9 volt battery clip which I'm sure will be great. Now the Deluxe kit comes with a transformer which has a 9v output which you just plug into the wall. So the deluxe accessories kit's power sources is my preferred option for the model rather than having to have 9v batteries. Now just to explain a little further I'm planning to use Tena Controls for the strobe lights, shuttle bay, impulse engines and the narcelles. I will use the Deluxe Accessories pack for the interior lighting of the saucer, neck and secondary hull. After all that my question is can i use the transformer power supply as a singular source for the model rather than having to have two power sources, one being a 9 volt battery?

Sure no problem the 9v supply will be able to handle that and more. In fact I'm using, the tena bussards in the TOS and they are 9v but I talked to Ralph and he told me that it would be no problem to hook them up to 12v. Were here for you my friend I would also think about the Orbital Dry-Dock masks.

Thanks Wally I appreciate the prompt response!!!!! :-) As soon as I saw your video on the painting masks I ordered a set they look fantastic.....just have to be patient waiting for their arrival!! Thank you once again. I really enjoyed opening all the boxes for the build this afternoon......felt like a kid at Christmas hahahahahaah. As an aside my wife watched me as I filled the sink with hot water and dish washing liquid she thought "my God after 31 years of married life he is finally going to the dishes :-) My lady was not impressed when I started to wash all the parts of the TOS Enterprise. hee hee hee hee Sorry, I blamed you of course. I figured you are around 8,000 miles away and most of that is the Pacific Ocean so your're safe hahahahaha

Now that is funny still laughing Just make sure you don't plan any trips out this way any time soon!!! Just a word it's easy to get carried away when you get all the parts just go slow and easy and if you need some advise feel free to ask, that is why we are here. Well good luck on your new adventure and be sure to post them pictures....

I was hoping you would have a laugh...................the world is way to serious!!! Thank you I appreciate the advice. I will definitely go slow and easy on this model and I'm sure I will have plenty of questions. I want to keep this hobby as fun !! :-) I thought my next step on the model would be light blocking so I will spend an hour or so after work this week slowly masking up the model. Nice and slow.......... :-)

I wouldn't worry about masking anything at this point, if the black get's on the outside of the model no worries you are going to put a primer on the outside any way. You can see in our videos that we really didn't mask anything until we had the lights in, and don't worry about the lights inside the hull they will be fine as lone as you don't have a heavy had with the primer.
